5 Products To Save On

With the new year comes workout plans, manifestation boards, and–uh-oh–the holiday credit card bill. This year is my year of realizing I need to learn to budget and maybe even put money towards that thing called a 401k (whatever that is!).

Before we spiral too much about finances, remember, you’re never going to be in your 20’s again! A roof, of any kind, food in your belly, and a soft bed are more than enough to be considered lucky. Even though this economy sometimes makes us feel stupid for spending even $5 on a matcha, it’s important to remember that spending money and treating yourself to experiences isn’t a crime, especially not in your 20’s.

So if you’re like me and looking to cut corners to save money for your 2024 travels, this piece is for you!

Here are 5 products I like to save on when I’m in a bind. And, hey, if you aren’t needing to penny-pinch right now, maybe use this for an idea on things to splurge on instead!

Liquid IV

I recently started drinking Liquid IV daily. In the big year of 2023, I don’t think I need to explain to anyone the importance of staying hydrated; but for those who haven’t tried Liquid IV, try it after a night out. Then come back here and thank me. However, as much as I love it, I definitely don’t feel bad giving this one up. Don’t get me wrong, it is the first thing I splurge on, but also, give me any sort of a cup with a straw and I will be sure to get my hydration in the old-fashioned way. So for this reason, I can happily go without it!

Ouai Hand Soap

WOW! Everytime I buy this soap I am reminded how much I love it. It is beaded to exfoliate and it seems like a spa. Whenever someone comes over when I have this in my bathroom, they can’t help but compliment, and they might even call me bougie because of how luxurious it feels. But, at the end of the day, Dial does the job and I’ll be back on my Ouai to use this soap when the credit card is paid down.

Tatcha Moisturizer

This product never fails to make my skin glow. I am constantly being influenced to try new products–many of which my face doesn’t always react kindly to. Tatcha will always be my skin's craving. On the other hand, the price point is not what my wallets craving. I recently opted for the Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream and it is understandable why it is a cult-favorite. I’m sure I will find my way back to Tatcha, though.

Poppi Soda

There is no better pick me up than a fizzy drink, especially when it’s served in a wine glass just-for-fun. I’ve heard the phrase, “Don’t drink your calories”, and I can only assume that whoever said it had never tried a can of Poppi. It’s healthy, it tastes good, and it's a fun treat. I normally pick mine up at Target, however, depending on where you get it from, the price can range and add up per can. For that reason, it can wait!

Necessaire Body Lotion

My Necessaire Body Wash will never be on this list, but the body lotion? We can save on that one. Similarly to the hand soap, a big bottle of Jergens body lotion will definitely do the trick for a much lower price point. And, if we’re being honest, it will last a lot longer!

These were a few of the ways that I cut back on costs and products that I save money by skipping out on. Whatever you choose to cut back on, remember, never feel bad for spending money on your health or your happiness! As much of an expense as ClassPass is for me, I always make sure to keep it in my monthly budget because I see it as a way to invest in myself and my health. Nothing is more valuable than your wellbeing!
