As the first ever brand highlight on Mindlessly Marissa, I hold up my right hand and promise you that I won’t encourage you to buy everything and anything. We are constantly sold ads and reasons to shop but I’m sure you know just as well as I do that we don’t need everything that is on the market. Instead these brand highlights will be to share with you something unique about a brand or a real reason to discuss a brand. With that said, I wanted to take a moment to talk about Necessaire.
Black Friday sales are officially over and this year I tried my hardest to not shop at all. I was struggling to come up with things I may want for Christmas and putting together a list for my parents because oftentimes I impulsively buy anything I may want. This means that by the time Christmas comes around there is nothing left for me to want (how lucky am I to not have any wants?!). In general my list of wants and time spent shopping is getting smaller and shorter and for that I am grateful, but I wanted to avoid any and all self-gifted presents this year.
So what did Necessaire do that got me to buy from them?
This year they were the only brand that convinced me to make a Black Friday purchase and that is because of how well they ran their sale. The sale was: 25% off purchases and a free bottle of their body wash, on top of their free shipping for any order over $75.
Most brands I saw were advertising “up to” sales. Good old semantics! They aren’t saying that their Black Friday sales are 70% off, they are saying it is up to 70% off. And let’s be honest it’s usually the socks that are 70% off and the cute dress you have been eyeing is only 5% off!
Knowing that the Body Retinol and Body Serum duo I had been wanting to try was on sale caught my attention, then to also get a free gift of the body wash I already use (full size might I add), and then when I went to checkout and I got free checkout?! It was all too much and I felt like I’d be losing money if I didn't take the deal.
Normally with other brands I would be served an ad and would go to their website, after browsing I would find things that I would like and put them in the cart. The shoppers' remorse would set in before the purchase was made because of additional costs and realizing that I wasn’t getting the same deal that was promoted in the advertisement. Even after making my purchase from Necessaire, I am still happy with all that I got because I know that the deal was as advertised … and they were advertising a great deal!
I am already a fan of the brand, but if I weren’t this is a great way to get consumers to try more of your products. The body wash is arguably their hero product and so by giving it for free, shoppers can try their biggest seller alongside more of their product line.
Sales aside, I have used the body wash for a few years now and have found that it is the only product that keeps my body clear. I frequently get Keratosis Pilaris bumps especially on my arms and this body wash helps to keep them from flaring up. I had tried other exfoliators and body washes, but this has become my old reliable product. Another favorite product of mine that I picked up during their sale was their body lotion. Again, I have long had dry skin and tried everything from Jergens to Bath and Body Works. The main issue I have with other lotions is that they sit on top of my skin or feel slimy. With Necessaire’s body lotion, it sinks in the skin and I am assured that the product is sinking into my skin and not onto my shirt or the couch after I sit down.
I’m looking forward to trying out the Body Retinol and Body Serum duo for the first time and will be sure to write a review on how these products work for me. Overall I am excited about any upcoming deals that the brand may run and will be keeping a close eye on what they do next.
For these reasons, I think Necessaire won Black Friday and is deserving of my first ever brand highlight.
